Give Back
Many of us are blessed and are able to provide the things that our children need. However, there are some children that go without items that we often take for granted. Through your generous donations, we are able to provide thousands of items that children and young adults need, but we always need more.
Please help and give back to those that need it most.
School Supplies
Supplies are collected and distributed throughout the year. Jeanne Fowler learned at a very young age the value of education and the importance of having the tools necessary to succeed. Every September, we are in need of thousands of backpacks filled to get our kids ready for back to school.

Love Packs
These packs are goodie bags filled with age-appropriate items for children when they are removed from their homes. All bags include toothbrush and toothpaste, candy, and a beanie baby. Coloring books and crayons are included for the young children. The older children would also receive hair products, deodorant, and feminine products for the girls.
In 2010, we gave away over 2,000 Love Packs to Child Protective Services in 4 counties. We are always in need of donations and volunteers to collect and assemble these precious items.
Aging Out Program
When a child reaches the age of 18 to 21 they "age out" of the system and are on their own. Big Family collects suitcases to fill with everything needed to begin independent living. Whether it is for their first apartment or setting up a dorm room for college, Big Family helps to get them started with all of the household items they will need.
Teddy Bears
We collect new or very gently used teddy bears. These are given out throughout the year and at the annual adoption festival as something that the child can call their own and look to for comfort.
Dignity Bags
These are small suitcases or cloth bags given to Child Protective Services (CPS) and police to carry in their cars so when a child is taken from an abuse or dangerous home, the children’s belongings are not brought out in black garbage bags. We want the child to leave their home with some dignity and not be taken out like the garbage that black bags are used for.
Birthday Parties
Parties are planned each month for foster children. The birthday boy/girl is allowed to invite 10 friends to a special party complete with cake and presents. We are always looking for birthday presents or volunteers looking to help sponsor a party for a child.
Sports and Cultural Outings
We enjoy spending time with the children when they can enjoy a hometown professional sports game or a cultural activity. A special thanks to the Tigers, Lions, and Pistons for helping us to provide a fun time out for the kids! If you have tickets to donate, please contact us for more information.
Speaking Engagements
Jeanne Fowler travels around the country speaking about Recognizing and Reporting (R+R) Child Abuse. Sometimes the best way to get involved is the spread the message. Jeanne speaks at exchange clubs, churches, schools and train police, social workers and foster parents on Child Abuse as seen from the child’s eyes.
